Preamble
The Scientific Confraternity of Evidence Researchers (SCoER), guided by the highest standards of academic ethics and the good of science, establishes this code as the foundation of its research activities. Our primary goal is to strive for scientific truth through reliable and responsible research, with respect for international ethical standards and principles.
Principles and standards of operation
Members of the Scientific Confraternity of Evidence Researchers (SCoER) undertake to comply with the following principles:
A) METHODOLOGY AND RELIABILITY
Conducting all scientific research with the highest methodological diligence and ensuring transparency of the research process, including full documentation of all stages of the research process, enabling their later verification by other researchers.
B) OBJECTIVITY AND CRITICAL APPROACH
Maintaining full objectivity in the research process, basing conclusions only on verifiable data and facts, while maintaining a critical approach to one's own research results and being open to constructive criticism from the scientific community.
C) RESEARCH ETHICS AND BIOETHICS
Adhering to bioethical principles in research involving humans and animals, with particular emphasis on the dignity of research participants and the protection of their privacy and sensitive data.
D) FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE AND TRANSPARENCY
Ensuring reliable documentation of research funding sources, declaring potential conflicts of interest, and maintaining independence from external political, ideological, or economic influences in the research process.
E) COOPERATION AND RECOGNITION
Honest recognition of the contribution of other researchers to ongoing projects, adherence to the principles of authorship and co-authorship, and active sharing of knowledge and experience with other members of the scientific community, especially with young researchers.
F) OPEN SCIENCE AND ACCESSIBILITY
Adhering to the principles of open access to research results and sharing source data in accordance with the open science principle, while maintaining standards of protection of intellectual property and copyright.
G) SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Conducting research with the common good in mind, popularizing science and sharing knowledge with society in an accessible way, and ensuring the effective use of funds allocated for scientific research.
H) DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVEMENT
Continuously improving own qualifications and research competences, ensuring the development of young scientific staff through mentoring and transferring ethical standards, and active participation in scientific life.
I) COUNTERACTING DISINFORMATION
Actively counteracting the spread of scientific disinformation, systematically monitoring and responding to conspiracy theories about science, and maintaining special responsibility in scientific communication, avoiding sensationalism and simplifications that may lead to misinterpretations of research results.
J) PSEUDOSCIENCE AND UNEXPLORED AREAS
To remain vigilant against pseudoscientific theories while respecting areas not yet explored by science, to refrain from categorical judgments in areas where scientific knowledge is incomplete, and to honestly communicate the limits of current scientific knowledge and the uncertainties associated with it.
Final Provisions
This Code applies to all members of the Scientific Confraternity of Evidence Researchers (SCoER). Its compliance is subject to regular evaluation by the Ethics Council of the Confraternity. Any violations of the Code will be dealt with in accordance with the adopted procedures, respecting the rights of defense and explanation. The Code is subject to periodic review and may be updated by consensus of the Confraternity members.

Deklaracja Społecznej Odpowiedzialności Uczelni (2019) – Dokument, który w pierwszym punkcie zobowiązuje uczelnie do przestrzegania wartości akademickich zapisanych w Kodeksie Etyki Pracownika Naukowego.
